Our material specifications page outlines the wide range of material options available for Injectech components. The comprehensive guide includes the benefits of each material along with its approved sterilization methods and classifications.

Primary sterilization methods include:

Ethylene oxide (EtO)

  •  A colorless, low temperature gas used to sterilize single-use medical devices
  • Its lower temperature makes it ideal for a wide variety of materials
  • Materials are not exposed to excessive heat, moisture, or radiation

Steam Sterilization/Autoclaving
  • Inexpensive and quick, but plastics sometimes can only withstand a limited number of cycles
  • Some materials may swell with excessive moisture

Ionizing Radiation
  • Effective and quick process
  • Can sterilize packaged products
  • Some fittings may become discolored by radiation (RSPC is formulated with increased resistance to radiation)
  • High sterilization costs
